Hey Beautiful People,
Many of us are aware of the wave of positive lifestyle habits that are expressed through various social media platforms. One of the lifestyle habits many of us are instructed to adopt is the practice of speaking positive affirmations over our lives. Watch this video below to see what I am talking about.
A snippet from a Single's Social on Galentine's Day that I had the pleasure of speaking at. Hosted by Rise In Christ LLC.
An affirmation is the act of stating something as a fact; to assert strongly and publicly. It is also to offer (someone) emotional support or encouragement.
It is a process of programming your mind to exist in a positive state of consciousness which is attempted through positive statements beginning with "I AM" i.e.
I AM PROTECTED
I AM LOVED
I AM ENOUGH
I AM GOING TO DO IT
I AM CONFIDENT ETC...
My entire initiative I AM HERE COLLECTIVE is deeply rooted in the power of affirmation. In one way or another, its goal is to affirm the humanity, significance, divinity, and the purpose of all its participants by any means necessary. But...in full transparency, I really HATED affirmations as one point in my life. We are often told to make a list of affirmations and to say them to ourselves every day, over and over and over again. The reality is no matter how well crafted your affirmations are you can very easily feel LIKE CRAP reading them because you don't believe what you are saying. There were moments I would read affirmations and be like...
Until I talked to my therapist what I can do to make my affirmations more tangible, believable and true. Just like that, I had an AHA moment and developed an activity that allowed me to enjoy saying, writing and doing affirmations for the first time. Below is the Affirmation Activity that you will work through.
This activity's purpose is to help you to not only SAY affirmations but BELIEVE them, not because you need but because now you will have EVIDENCE of why you speak those things over your life.
